Unexpected logistical issues have forced the postponement of what would have been a brand-new event to celebrate the heritage of four of Scotland’s best-known motorsport venues.
The Three Hills and the Rest event which was scheduled to run on Saturday September 7th was designed to help raise funds for a feasibility study for the proposed Rest and Be Thankful Heritage Centre at the top of the classic hillclimb.
The teams taking part would have visited four hillclimbs at Forrestburn, Bo’ness, Doune and the iconic Rest and be Thankful. Chairman of the Trustees of the Rest and Be Thankful Heritage Centre charity, Stan Bernard said: “We had a great response and can only apologise to the dozens of crews who had entered. All entry fees which have been paid will be refunded and we are hoping to re-arrange the run at a later date, possibly next Spring….and I’m sure it will be a great day out.”
